I have to admit that I thought I was buying from a UK supplier. Sure you can find reference on the site to distribution being centralised in the States but how many of us really read the small print before we buy. I know will in future.

I have looked at the site in detail, I did look at their shipping page, at the time of placing the order, which states that they only deliver to Mainland UK addresses only. They mention in their returns policy about 'subject to the right of consumers to return goods under the Supply of Goods and Services act and also the Distance Selling Regulations' which also convey a picture of a UK company. They are refusing to cancel my order, same as you, in the shipping queue?!!! They will not credit me a refund and have emailed me saying that they will recharge me for the product as well as for return postage.. I have tried discussing with Consumer Direct, but they have not been much in the way of help as they are not a uk based company but I will be getting in touch with the OFT and also there is an organisation www.econsumer.gov that claims to assist in situations like this. Will be contacting them in the next day or two.

Keep in touch and let me know how you get on.

...all this and the risk that you will have to pay UK VAT and a handling charge when the goods arrive in the UK!

To be fair to Crazycameras the About Us on their website does clearly state that their distribution facilities are based in Portland, Oregon.

I'm surprised that the OP didn't notice this when they originally ordered.
