Thanks for the advice. I'm not very sure how the domain name actually works - I'm not very computer/internet literate! The idea of the +company name with google mail sounds useful. What do you do if spam does come in? Can it be stopped? Do you just complain to the company it came from.

The very last thing you should do about spam is complain to where it came from, doing that will let them know you actaully exist & are reading their mails, they will send you shed loads more & tell everyone else

Just ignore spam & as others say, Google does a god job in filtering it out

I have been getting the message - "You are currently using 7515MB (99%) of your 7535MB" for some time. This could mean that I am unable to acccess my google mail. This despite going to my oldest mail in the inbox and deleting loads of pages of mail. Nothing in the Sent Box. I have 4 google mail addresses, so surely this should give me 4 lots of storage, but I have them linked so that they all come through on to my Windows Mail on my PC. I cannot see any way to contact Google Mail about this problem and there is nothing in help except how to buy more storage, which I am reluctant to do.
    Any ideas anyone ? thanks.

Do you currently have many emails stored, or any with large attachments?

You should also note that there is no charge for starting a new thread rather than re-opening a year old one on a different aspect of gmail which is arguably in the wrong forum section too.
  • Just to add- you can have as many gmail accounts as you want. I have 4 for various reasons. One of them is a recovery account where all emails from my main one automatically get forwarded too.
    I didn't know about + . Very useful info.
