i cant acces the Bios when starting up (F2) ....just asks me to choose OS, which is Windows 7, or run a memory check which Ive done and it says there's no errors.

Tried putting the .rom file on a pendrive and restarting computer with it plugged in, still nothing.

  • Don't upgrade the BIOS unless you know exactly what you are doing - you could end up with an expensive door stop.
Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!

I would take the RAM back and change it for the correct parts, rather than messing with your BIOS. Much better in future to buy your RAM from somewhere like crucial.com, it might cost a bit more but is is guaranteed to be compatible.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

That is the option for BBS Popup - take out pendrive restart and as soon as the Asus Logo comes on F2 (setup) that should give yoy the BIOS and the option to change the boot settings to remove fastboot. I agree with others do not try BIOS upgrade

I was told to Bios upgrade by the people I bought the RAM from.

Since upgrading from XP to W7 the only thing I havent done is upgrade the Bios, Ive upgraded everything else.

Whenever I press F2 it doesnt show me a 'bios page' it just asks me to select Operating system.

Finally got into the Bios, and it now registers that it has 2GB of RAM.

Thank you everyone for your help, and sorry for being a nuisance :)
