Went in to the kitchen last night and the dishwasher had stopped working with various lights flashing on the display. I had a look in the manual and it didn't have my combination of lights in the self fix section and the only advise it gave was call for repair. I've taken the bottom off and nothing seems to be working so it's pretty much dead. As it's 5 years old is it worth spending out to get a man in to fix it or dump it and buy a new one?
Nothing to see here, move along.

It might be a good plan to check that the base hasn't got water in it with the resulting in the flood switch operating.
It would seem a tad extreme to ditch the whole thing just for that (if indeed that is what it is) - unless you've got money to throw away.

Ours stopped working recently - with the base filling up with water and not draining. Got Bosch in, and it turned out to be the heating element. He said that if the water does not get to temperature, the rest of the cycle won't complete.
New element installed = working dishwasher :j0 -
To help the OP , may we be told , how much ?New element installed = working dishwasher0 -
To help the OP , may we be told , how much ?
The callout was £95, but they did not charge for the element as it was only just out of warranty.
All credit to Bosch Customer Services for showing a bit of understanding - we had been messed around with 2 cancelled callouts because of the snow, so they agreed to waive some of the charges :T0 -
Taking that example ( thanks)
£95 call out Plus 'bits' ( OP is 5 years old)
Result you still have a five year old , that for now works.
New £300
My conclusion , buy another one .0 -
Apparently the one we have is about the most unreliable one you can get so I'm guessing we have been lucky so far, it was fixed once under JL 2 year warranty so I think it's time to get rid and buy a new one
