I'm 100% certain that there will be no deduction for her with the council tax benefit - and 99% sure with the mortgage interest, but as a housing benefits assessor I can't be sure on the mortgage side because it's not my area.
Generally speaking, in benefits we are only allowed to request evidence that is necessary in order to process your claim. In my view, it isn't really reasonable to ask for non-dep earnings proof where there would be no effect on the claim anyway. However, it does still happen - sometimes it is requested as standard, or when the person asking doesn't realise that the claimant is getting DLA care, or doesn't realise the consequences on the non-dep charge.
If you wish you could call the DWP to ask if a non-dep charge will definitely apply given that you get DLAc and they may then say you don't need to supply the wage slips. I'm sure that CAB would help you too, if you went to see them.
Second that!
Also if your daughter moves out you might be entitled to the Severe Disability premium in your applicable amount - you may get the lower rate premium if:- you live alone and get the middle or the higher care component of Disability Living Allowance and
- no one gets Carer's Allowance for looking after you.

Well the tears have arrived.
I have told her that I will phone tomorrow and just make sure that it is correct and that I have to send in her wage slip to the benefit office. Then we will go from there. I could really do without all this stress. And, not to do something she might regret.0 -
And yes, she does get £230pw before tax on her apprenticeship.0

as Macro said - there will be no non dep deduction for HB/CTB purposes.
i found this info online from CAB
Housing costs
You may be able to get help towards some of your housing costs included in your applicable amount. This could include help with mortgage interest. No help is available with paying the capital part of a mortgage or any other payments, for example, endowment premiums, and there are restrictions on the amount of interest which can be paid. You will usually have to wait a few weeks after you start getting Income Support before you can get any help with interest, unless your partner is aged 60 or over. You will usually have this part of Income Support paid directly to your mortgage lender.
You may also be able to get help towards some other housing costs, for example, ground rent for long leases and some service charges. However, in most circumstances, if you rent your home you cannot get any Income Support for housing costs and you should claim Housing Benefit instead.
If there are other adults living in your home apart from your partner, your landlord, or a joint owner, tenant or lodger, a deduction may be made from the housing costs which Income Support can cover. This might apply, for example, if you have an elderly relative or an adult son or daughter living with you. The amount of any deduction will depend on their income and circumstances
I did read somewhere (cannot find it for the life of me! that if you are disabled or blind there is no non dependant deduction from housing costs.. if i find it i shall post it on here) HTH

Non-dependant deductions
Deductions are made from your housing costs for non-dependants aged over 18 who normally live with you. There are six levels of deduction. If the non-dependant is working less than 16 hours a week, the lowest deduction will apply. If the non-dependant is doing paid work for 16 hours or more a week, the level of deduction will depend on the non-dependant's gross income. A deduction will not be made from your housing costs if:- the non-dependant is in receipt of Pension Credit you or
- you or your partner are aged 65 or more and the non-dependant is a full time student,
- you, or your partner, are registered blind or treated as blind or
- you, or your partner, are receiving the care component of Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance in respect of yourself or your partner or
- the non-dependant is aged 16 or 17 or the non-dependant's normal home is somewhere else or
- the non-dependant is in receipt of a training allowance or a YTS scheme or
- the non-dependant is a full-time student (but deductions may be made during the summer vacation if the student does any paid work in this period) or
- the non-dependant is a prisoner or
- the non-dependant has been a patient in hospital for 52 weeks or more. If the non-dependant leaves hospital but is readmitted to hospital within 28 days their total number of days in hospital are added together.
- No deduction should be made from your housing costs if the non-dependant is under 25 and on Income Support or income based JSA.
- A deduction may be delayed for 26 weeks if you or your partner are aged 65 or more and a non-dependant moves into your home or the non-dependants circumstances change to increase the deduction.
- No deduction should be made from your housing costs if the non-dependant is under 25 and on Income Support or income based JSA.
- where a non-dependant deduction is already being made in housing benefit

No - they would not ask the non-dependent directly as it is not her claim to benefit - it is the OP's. It is therefore her responsibility.0 -
The mortgage may not be her debt, but the mortgage is putting a roof over her head. She needs to grow up and be responsible - it's entirely reasonable that she contribute to the household and refusal to do so is gross selfishness.
Sorry but it sounds as though your daughter needs a drop-kick into the reality zone. Hope you get it sorted out!“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”
