Advice on a car I have bought

Any news yet?
Joolz, as you get older you will be looking for cars that are more than that
Our first one used to have a bit of cardboard over the rust holes in the front floor - days before MOTs. At my time of life I now want a bit of luxury and reliablility. Shame you have to be this old to be able to afford it. 0 -
Thought the OP would have been back by now to update us.0

When I read these stories, Im so grateful that I may have paid a bit over the top for an approved VW from a main dealer.
Trust me that doesnt always go swimmingly. The VW Passat my parents purchased was a shed of a car and had so many problems that it took over 6 months of battling VW before they finally admitted the car was a bad un and took it back.
Hope all has gone well with the OP.0 -

Not sure what the insinuation is, its perfectly possible to buy a comfortable, reliable car for £300-£500 (in fact, I've never even spent that much on a car!) Sure, it might be NICE to have a newer car but I dont see the need.
Example,
Buy a 3-4year old car use it for a year and you've lost 20% of its value. Lets say it was a cheapun and cost 4k - you've lost £800 even if you dont drive it. £66 a month.
Buy a £500 car and run it until something big breaks, lets say that you buy it with a 12 month MOT and it fails next year, you have theoretically lost £500 but its more than possible to get a large chunk of that back if you sell the car on ebay etc - lets say £150. You've lost £350 on it - £30 a month! In my experience it takes a fair amount to cause a catastrophic MOT failure if you have a bit of nous and a decent socket set. If you have a rough idea of cars and a bit of common sense bangernomics is far and away the best way to motor imho....
But this doesn't help the OP. Maybe we should press gang him into letting us know? :rotfl:Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
No insinuation, fact, as you get older you want more comfort and a bit of luxury

Yes, where the hell has he got to - may be they are keeping him hostage at the garage.0
