Currys Whatever Happens Extended Insurance on Laptop

After taking out an extra insurance agreement with Curry's known as Whateverhappens: www [dot] currys [dot] co [dot] uk/martprd/editorial/whateverhappens

I had the misfortune of actually trying to claim under their extended warranty. I feel it worthy of noting that I am actually an employee of Curry's DSGi, and am pushed to sell this service to customers on a daily basis.

December 28th 2009: I reported that my laptop had stopped working due to a mishap. In compliance with the agreement I was told it would be picked up by a courier form my house on 31st December 2009.

December 31th 2009: Laptop picked up from home.

January 11th 2010: After no response from the Techguys or Whatever happens customer service, I enquire about the status of the repair. I am told that they are still waiting for parts for the laptop, but that there is no ETA for the parts. I inform the gentleman on the phone that the agreement states that after 10 days I can request a new laptop or vouchers in place of buying a new laptop. (It had been 11days.) The reason for me requesting a new laptop so quickly is that the agreement states that I can have a loan laptop while mine is in for repairs. 17 days later, and I STILL have NO loan laptop, despite the fact I was told I would be contacted by someone regarding it. I am told that a write off will be requested, and that vouchers will be sent out to me within about 7 days.

January 15th 2010: My mother is called about the laptop, being told that it was going to be delivered on Sunday. Obviously this put her into a state of confusion and so once able to, she called them back to enquire about why we were having a laptop delivered, despite the fact that we were told the write off would be accepted and that the vouchers would arrive by 19th January (7-8 days).
We are now told an entirely different story. We are told Dave in Head Office, who works with case management has rejected our claim for a write off because the laptop was repaired in time.

We have been advised by them that we are actually in the right. We were told on the 11th day they were still waiting for parts. So how it was repaired within 10 days is beyond me. The fact that I haven't been given a loan laptop also has hindered my school work somewhat, with my exams approaching Monday 18th January.

I still have my voucher reference that I was given over the phone, and all the notes on their system indicate that they have not in fact abided by the agreement what so ever. Going through my notes that it all I can remember.

We have been advised to contact the litigation office for Dixons Group PLC, but as an employee of the DSGi, I am quickly losing faith in the company that I've been with for 1 year 6 months, and bought alot of my products from.

So whats the best thing to do?

I've spoken to my manager, and he said that head office is going by what they've been told.

I've sent a letter to trading standards too....
