how to use lloyds tsb with vantage?

just curious: if you have 3 vantage accounts, then do you have 3 classic accounts with 3 debit cards etc.
I have 3 Vantage accounts but have a cheque book and debit card with one only.
Given that my prime interest in the two I have just added is really just as instant access savings accounts, it seemed wasteful to have cheque books and cards issued for them when I shall most likely never need such things and only ever want to move money from them into others of my own accounts and I can do that electronically.
I also haven't applied for overdrafts on the two new accounts as there is no way I would be going overdrawn with them. I did set up £500 on the earlier one but only as a fail-safe device a long time ago.0 -

Are you sure about this? Have you tested it by depositing less than £1K in a month?0 -

I use one of my Vantage a/c.s solely for the receipt of interest and dividends. Towards the end of the month I check how much I have received and make it up tp £1k with a cash deposit. Some months ago, I needed to deposit x pounds and 1p. This I did but when I received my statement I noticed that the teller had not keyed in the penny, simply x pounds. I went in the branch with my stamped paying in book as proof that £1k had been deposited and not £999-99 and I was informed that interest was classed as a deposit. Sure enough they had paid me 4% (gross).
This did not deter me however from having the penny reinststed. :rotfl:0 -
I've set up a vantage account and an easy saver account. The easy saver balance is nil. So every month i just need to transfer the 1k to the easy saver and then back to the vantange account, just to confirm.
I'm surprised this is allowed considering all i'm doing is moving the money within the same bank0 -
Ive applied for my 2nd Vantage account. Is it best to wait till thats completed before applying for a 3rd? Will confusion reign if I have 2 applications on the go?Justice for the 96 YNWA

I have just tried to open a Vantage account with lloyds over the phone and they refused saying you must have your salary mandated into the account or you will not get the interest.
From what people are saying on here (as I thought) you can get the interest with just transfers of £1K each month.
Have they changed the terms or did I just get a fob off on the phone?

You just got a stupid staff member, I'm sure. Go to your branch, do it online, or just call again and speak to somebody else.0 -
