O2 Genie in Kenya

Does anyone know if the O2 Genie sim card works in Kenya please?

Having had an O2 genie card and been to Kenya - yes it does work!!

You obviously need to call O2 and make sure you have international roaming and get them to tell you the call charges.

Kenya doesn't have a lot of coverage, i.e. there are few mobile phone masts, so you can only get coverage in cities & larger towns. Don't rely on it for safety!!

Speaking of safety, only use the handset where it is safe to do so, such as in your hotel room. NEVER use it outdoors.

But apart from the offer Muhamid mentions, it wouldn't be good value as roaming charges will be over £1 a minute. Either get a local SIM card and think about using a callback service as the local tariffs don't look too hot (neither is callback for Kenya mobile), or look into global roaming SIMs
