virgin casback deals???? PROBLEM!!!!!

Just phoned up as we were well pleased with what the martin lewis site had found i.e cashback for virgin bundle deals, we phoned simplify digital? and were just about to buy when we were told we had to pay £35 instulation fee + £11 line rental ontop when it clearly states on your site both of these are included. We relayed this to the consultant who spoke to a manager and came back with " IF YOU WANT TO RING MARKETING TO GET THIS CHANGED YOU CAN DO SO AS THIS IS NOT IN THE IN OFFER"????? So we did not proceed. can someone explain to us whats happened??? THANKS!!!!

You've misread what was written, arguably its a little confusing:
Factoring in the cashback and Virgin's own two month free TV & broadband offer, the cheapest £29/month package works out at £18.08/month over the 12 month contract. This includes the one-off £35 installation fee and £11/month line rental. If you want a V+ box (which lets you record, pause and rewind) you'll need to dish out an extra £75.
The cheapest package is £18 per month, but is free for two months. Additionally you must pay £11 per month for the 12 month contract and a one off installation fee. However ML has added the two together and said "the cheapest package is £29 per month".

    So over a year you pay (£18 x 10) + (£11 x 12) + £35 = £347. Take off the £130 cashback = £217, or when you consider this cost spread over 12 months = £18.08.

Arguably the simplify digital site says nothing about installation costs, installation is only free if you order direct with Virgin Media through their website - but then the cashback available through Quidco and the like isn't as much.
