  • I would try at the bank first. I once had my surname misspelled on a cheque (one letter was missing) and I pointed it out to the cashier and she said that it's fine. I doubt that they would even notice if you go in at a busy time, especially as 'I' can sometimes look like 'L'.
Well done on your win! :)

I would take it to the bank together with the winning letter. If they query it, which they shouldn't really, they will be able to check that you do live at that address.

Once it gone over the till no one will be looking at it again. There should be no problem.

Try at the bank, take your ID and maybe any proof of address with you...(is there your address on the letter from ITV???), if cashier has a problem to put it through ask to speak to manager and explain the situation. I used to work in the bank and this kind of problem is very common. Its up to manager's discretion, they can sign the cheque at the back and it will clear ok.

If not I am sure ITV will replace the cheque.

Anyhow CONGRATULATIONS on your fantastic win.:j

I've had my name mispelt before (Nathalie instead of Natalie) and 1 'L' rather than 2 'Ls) in my surname all cheques have been fine
