Cheap vs. branded wet wipes?

  • I love Tescos own brand ones. They do them in scented an unscented and they are 99p a pack. I also keep a basket of cheap flannels by the sink which I use to wash messy fingers and faces. Much cheaper and then I fling them all in the wash with the towels. I think Tesco were doing flannels for about 25p.

Google Cheeky wipes, they are fab, no chemicals and much cheaper. I got these given as a gift (I don't used reusable nappies:eek:) but these are great because I hate the idea of all those chemicals on my little ones on a daily basis.

But for out and about, after 4 kids I would say Morrisons get a thumbs up from me but avoid Huggies they are horrid.

I judge them by smell and only ever liked the tesco blue ones and the boots purple ones. There are ones - huggies I think - that have a really weird texture.
Store them upside down, so the top wipe stays wet.

The best value for you will be the ones you and baby get on with. My sister's girls can cope with any brand but both my sons have sensitive skin. DS1 got on best with Huggies, anything else made his skin really dry - to the point that I used chamomile water at home. DS2 can cope with Simple or Pampers Sensitive but anything else and he ends up with horrendous nappy rash. So don't buy a large quantity of any until you've worked out what works for you. But, as above, there's no need to ever pay full price, there are regular offers on the major brands that allow you to stock up.

I got these last year because they were on special offer and have had no problems with them.

What ever is on offer, i always went for the sensitive skins ones. My midwife always told me rinse them in warm water first before i wiped to take any excess chemicals off, hence not staying on babies skin till the next change! HTH:)
