Pallets for wood burning stove - how do you store them?

I have found that my work place seems to get about 2 or 3 a month. So far i got 3 stacked up in the garden.
How best to store them and do they need to be 'seasoned' as they are pine?
I have a Californian one which seems to be made of layers of thin wood glued together - not sure this would be safe to burn.
The planks are quite thin - good for kindling - or do you layer them like in the Canadian advice website I looked at?
Any help much appreciated - won't be taking them apart til warmer

Take a maul to them and break them up into planks and stick them somewhere dry. I break them into smaller bits and stick them into wheely bins when I'm going to use them.
I'd avoid the one thats glued together.0 -
Thanks
I think I will store them flat in the garden with tarpulin over (because if on edge scared will fall on my cats). Then in Spring/summer will saw them into pieces and, like my logs, store on a pallet with cover. When late summer will move pieces into outhouse.
That should do it. Will still buy logs - have found local seasoned logs which are exactly what they say on the tin. Like the firm, was very helpful and strongly suggested I came to see how they operated, which i did. Not as cheap as some, but happy with the logs. Can't believe that pallets go to landfill!0 -
Pallets when split make good starting wood
I bought an excellent saw horse recently that will hold a pallet, have a watch of the video.
I bought it from the link as it was £20 cheaper than local store.
