Weekend Sat/Sun 16/17 January - What small DFW things have you done today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
Morning all! Hope no-one minds me starting the thread....am tucked up in bed all cosy with cuppa and laptop, so thought I would be dynamic lol! :rotfl:
Its wet and horrible out there, so bit of an indoor day I think.
- check online banking
- hokey cokey
- tea - leftover lasagne
- clean and dust lounge
- start next weeks meal plan
- enter all comps ending 18/1
- make fairy cakes
- babysit for a friend tonight (in return for her babysitting for me, good arrangement )
)
- sparkle!!!!!!
Have a great day everyone xx

            Hi Guys
Stayed in and avoided going to the Farmer's Market and spending loads on veggies. I know it tastes better, but I will stick to LIDL for now and work on getting my SFG (Square Foot Garden) organised to produce our own veggies instead.
Made "Bottom of the Fridge Soup" - some for lunch and 5 portions in the fridge.
BM on for another white loaf so kitchen will smell fab in about an hour
Found instructions on how to make newspaper pots for growing seeds, have requested Muller yog pots from the girls at my SW group and cut the tops off some plastic bottles to use as "mini-greenhouses" when it warms yo enough to actually get into the garden.
Cooked up a load of dried red kidney beans to make into a curry to tea tonight - so easy in the pressure cooker.
Heard some scrabbling in my storecupboard in the night (cupboard off my bedroom) - eek!!!! Mice!!!! Emptied all the food out (most is in lidded plastic containers) to find that the only thing they have nibbled on is Honey Roasted Cashew and Peanuts. They actually cut themselves a little door in the foil bag and have eaten almost a whole bag!!!!!!!!!!! Still saved me the Syns - lOL
Borrowed Mouse-traps to set tonight with a dab of peanut butter and honey roasted nuts (gourmet mice - LOL). IN the meantime I have done the Moneysaving thing and popped the cat in for a sniff around.
DS playing at his pals - so a NSD with the kiddies as the baby is watching a "Singing Kettle" Video.
Off to scrub the kitchen floor

Hi everyone, my first time in here.
Not much doing today/tomorrow I guess. I've done:- Basic food shop for the week and used £2 Tesco voucher
 - Actually cooking tonight rather than getting a takeaway  (being broke has it's advantages, apparently )
- Reduced timer on heating so using two hours less heat on the weekends and putting on a thick cardy instead
 - Fill flask with hot water rather than boil the kettle numerous times in the day!
 - Shred a few sheets of personal info from the piles of papers I've been 'collecting' for months. Little and often is my goal (still!)
- Get books from the library and reinstate my 'leisure reading' weekends. Got out of the habit just before Christmas.
- Plan daily lunches for the week

I have had a shower instead of a bath ( which I prefer), but quite enjoyed it.:)
 Checked this site for bargains.
Filled the flask up this morn instead of putting kettle on all the time.
Made lunch with stuff that's been in cupboard for ages.
Used old shampoo to clean the bath.
Folded clothes out of the tumble dryer quickly so that I don't need to iron them!
Going to the garden centre to gets seeds for veg.
 Thats all for now.0

            Today I...
...had homemade tomato sauce to go with our pasta for lunch (instead of our usual readymade sauce)
....listed 4 items on Ebay - (part of my aim to list an item a day/make £1 a day. Modest I know!)
....have eaten lunch BEFORE going out on errands so I don't buy chocolate/cup of tea whilst out!
 ....checked bank online
 ...read book from library
 -Seffy
Jan target - 10NSDs - only on 4 so far
2010 goals - list an item a day - for CC debt
 - make £1 a day towards CC debt
 - break my maternity leave 'cup of coffee while out with the baby' habit
debts - £9k on 0% card which lasts until August 2010. Gotta get cracking!0
