i don't see the problem here,as long as she knows what she is getting why does it matter if the old car gets scrapped or auctioned? surely as long as she gets the right car at the right price thats all that should worry her.
it may be a cancelled order or it may be that the dealer bought it to hit a sales target on a slow december?
Doesn't matter at all, just thought she should knew where she stood. Don't entirely understand the ins and outs of it but Ford have knocked another £450 off that, she's got to pay for it on finance though which negates any point of having a brand new car anyway cos the way she talked about it'll have cost her £5000 after 2 years by which time she needs to find the rest of the cash or give it back.

Apparently it was open stock to any of the S Yorks dealers so i'm none the wiser but she's gone for it anyway. Turns out her car has been registered as a CAT-C twice (first she's heard of it) so something needs sorting there first anyway, think it was a check of some kind. To me that sounds odd, as if it's going in for scrap it shouldn't matter if it's been written off or not. Who knows.

If it's a pre-reg then the car will not be going in for scrap, the dealer will intend to sell it.

A lot of dealers won't take categorised cars.

So, have all the manufacturers put their prices up four times last year?
    ML.

I must admit i'm not plugged into the matrix here that i can pull those sort of stats out, but i do know that volkswagen had several rises in the last year, as did BMW.

And Subaru are about to have a massive one - but thats to do with the weakness of the £ against the Yen.

Fords seem to be very expensive at the moment,I have always liked them partly because of the pricing but something like a Fiesta Zetec S is currently about £15,600.

wow i was so shocked by that price i even went and checked http://www.ford.co.uk/Hidden/SidebySideFiesta/dei1=1204919790217

way to high for a fiesta even of that trim level imo (is the new fiesta ST out yet ?)
you can get a Audi A3 for that http://www.audi.co.uk/explore-models/explore-by-range/a3.html albeit it basic, but nearly 16k for a fiesta :eek:!!!!!!, and curtain airbags are an extra cost option!

They are just milking us all, the Tax Payers that are paying for this farce.

Sooner it ends the better, then reality will be restored.

Hence my suspicion, if they have to auction it because it's not going in for scrap (it's a T reg punto probably worth £400 tops) then it'll need the check.

Anyway will report back when she's got it all sorted.

really i think the majority of people that could / wanted to take advantage of the scheme probably have by now. The goverment cant keep the industry on life support indefinately its about time they started removing stimulus from the economy and let us see whats really left.
The government are making money from this scheme , you buy a car for 11.75K for instance government give you 1k but get 1.75k back in vat 75% profit not bad
