Can't delete Alias and BT Broadband details mix up

Went from Tiscali to BT. Home hub arrived with my address and someone else's name. Someone else's details also appeared on my account. Assured by BT all erroneous info was deleted but when logged in found more details. There is now an alias created on the account which has been left on there. Firstly I am concerned about how this has happened. Secondly, I cannot delete the alias created by this other person and after an hour on the phone to BT they said they couldn't do it either. Nice. Anyone else been set up with someone else's details? And why can't I delete the alias.
