o2 poor customer service

I was recently cut off by o2 for a failed payment back in july 09. I wasn't aware of this missed payment and my bills have all been payed in full since then. They sent me a letter this week saying that they have been tring to contact me re nonpayment of this july bill. I have had no such correspondence. I've asked for proff but they cant give me any also they cant tell me why its taken them this long to claim the payment. Also the original bill has now incurred interest. What can i do please help. i dont owe them anything other than this missed payment.

    Welcome to the forum Poorneedcash,
How do you normaly pay the bill is it DD ?
Are you sure that you didn't pay the bill ?

In fairness I've always found their CS great although it probably depends on the luck of the draw who you speak to etc
It's not just about the money

Failed payments to o2 do not normally attract interest. Has this gone to a debt collector?

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.
  • It not gone to debt collectors. I thought i had incured charges but i havent. Its getting a little complicated. My bills are generated on the 19th and the money talen out 14 days after that. I missd the july payment which was due on the 3 August i called in on the 23rd and made what i was told was the amount i needed to pay. It wasn't i payed the August bill wich would have come out in september . So in september O2 didn't request a payment from my bank. Then in october my bill was £39. 84 but they only took £32. 84. They want that plus the bill from july with 17.5 vat. I didn't know this when i first made the post. I spent hours working this out for myself. Compairing bank statements phone bills and payments. I had to explain it to them and am waiting for a manager to get back to me to get my phone back on. I am willing to pay the outstanding balance (not with the 17.5 vat). I dont think i should have to pay it all at once as it wasn't my fault. I use the phone for business and will have to give someone a discount or tell them what happened with my phone which i dont want to do.
  • The customer service has always been great i've been with them for nearly 15 years. But i think this situation is a little confusing and they just keep telling me they dont know what has happened. They have gone on the defensive and are just lying to me. I have managed to work it out for myself. It looks like they have not been billing and collecting the correct amounts from me. But they now want last years money with the 17.5 vat. I am waiting for a manager to call me back as they are the only person that can reconnect my phone.
