Q. "how do i clean it up?"
A. You dont
Search google for something called "superfetch" and it will explain all but to put it very simply vista is anticipating your actions and filling your physical memory with as much stuff as possible just in case you need it and this is perfectly normal so no need to worry about it0 -
Why do I get the impression the OP is actually referring to disk space?Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0

This. Empty RAM will do nothing but continue to use electricity.
If you're that concerned, try disabling unnecessary services, and using low-overhead applications.0 -

Turn it off then you will be using 0% of your Memory!
Are you referring to RAM or Hard Disk space ?It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
When I had Vista system restore kept eating up my disk space. I did this to change the amount of disk space allocated to system restore:
- Click Start - All Programs - Accessories. Right click on ‘Command Prompt’ and click ‘Run as Administrator’.
- Type the following in the command prompt:vssadmin list shadowstorage The results shown will be similar to this: Used Shadow Copy Storage space: 2.702 GB
Allocated Shadow Copy Storage space: 2.933 GB
Maximum Shadow Copy Storage space: 5 GB - If you feel like Vista is taking up too much space, then use this command to lower it:vssadmin resize shadowstorage /On=[Drive Letter]: /For=[Drive Letter]: /Maxsize=[space]For example, I executed this command to lower it to 2GB: vssadmin resize shadowstorage /On=C: /For=C: /Maxsize=2GB
I went away and now I'm back.:j:j0 -

Would be nice if he posted again to clarify this but my guess is he's opened up task manager and system ram is referred to as physical memory plus he said this ...hi am using Vista - memory is 1024mb many thankscomputers and their users can be mysterious things :rotfl:

Hi I'm back - it is the memory that is saying 83% full not the disk space.
