Race For Life 2010!!

Have walked it before, took about an hour. No training needed before I did it.

Good luck to everyone taking part (not that you need it, you will all be fine!)

I have signed up today to take part in my 5th Race for Life (so it really cant be that bad) the first few years I took part was mainly for fun and to raise money for a good cause, this year and last however it is to raise money in memory of my lovely Auntie who passed away last year due to cancer!

hope to see some familiar faces back on here again this year x

I'm also doing Race for Life this June, I did it last year and jogged most of the way around. Took me about 45 minutes

I'm running this year in memory of my Dad who died last summer, he didn't die from cancer but I thought it would be good to do something positive instead of moping about

I AM doing it this year. First time, I'm unfit but I am determined to get in shape for it. I want to do it for my Grandad who died of cancer.

Some of the girls at work have said they will do it as well so I will have some encouragement!

Thanks for the link to the runners world, I will try and start that schedule asap!

I just hope I don't need an oxygen mask at the end of it!!

my friend and i are doing the 10k - running - for the first time this year. I've ran a 5k at the gym a few times...so not sure il need to do too much training to manage the 10k! :j If i didn't get stitches i'de manage fine! lol

I'd like to but unfortunately I'm disqualified due to the fact I'm a bloke!

Whilst I fully support their aims the whole thing is sexist. Cancer isn't exclusive to the female population, it strikes everyone so why exclude half the population from the event on the grounds of gender? (Occasionally males even get breast cancer so it's not just a female disease)

Raceforlife should be a fully inclusive event in my opinion.

I might just submit an application to take part and see what happens...

Race for Life has been exclusive to Women for almost 16 years, I can't see them changing the rules now!

Besides I would feel a bit intimidated surrounded by loads of men!

I did race for life 2 years ago and it was one of the most rewarding days I have ever had and inspired me to do a charity trek in Peru for cancer research uk.
