Which airline to use to San Fran?

Hi All,
I'm looking at a list of prices for a long haul trip to San Fran. The prices don't change much for the lowest economy fairs thus I can't decide which airline to choose. All are direct:
Air Canada
American Airlines
United Airlines
Virgin Atlantic
British Airways
Delta
Time travelling, Virgin is quickest with BA closely following but I dont mind losing a few hours for a much better airline!
Does anyone have any thoughts on which is better or any sites which will show me?
Thanks!

People say ba is better than virgin0

I thought as much but haven't had the experience...
Also don't American Airlines use BA planes? So they are actually the same in this case? Or am I mistaken.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Hi - If you have a choice, I would wholeheartedly not recommend Delta!
We did a return trip to the west coast in economy class (with a changeover at New York), and were so, so uncomfortable! It seemed as if there was much less legroom than other airlines we had flown with: Even though I am slightly over 6ft I can usually fit my legs in quite easily: in the Delta seats it was one hell of an uncomfortable crush. My partners TV screen did not work, and simply made a flicker every so often, and don't mention the food :eek:!!!
On our short-haul from JFK, some loud young Americans decided to use their mobile phones before landing. Even though we never complained, I noticed someone else complaining, but the steward jokingly gave the phone user a ticking off, and 2 minutes later they were calling again....that didn't fill us with any confidence in the cabin crew...!
On our next US visit we plan to be savvy and pay a few more quid with a decent airline!Profit=sanity
Turnover=vanity
Greed=inhumanity:dance:0 -
I don't know about comparing the airlines on your list, but I flew that route in Dec with BA and had absolutely no complaints.
Don't know if it's the same on all airlines, but on BA the entertainment system allows you to pause/fast forward/rewind the movies and there is a massive choice. May sound like a small thing, but means a lot to me!0 -

oh we were just looking at delta:mad::mad:0 -
Virgin is cheaper than Delta funnily, though BA just a little more pricey. Cost here isn't an issue however (company paying) thus I'm looking for the best service and most comfortable for 11H direct!
Thanks
I'll avoid Delta like the plague

You could always get a direct flight to Vegas, play a few sessions and then catch an internal flight up to SF Josh.0
-
I plan to be spending most free weekends in Vegas though for work reasons I'll need to go straight there I think

where are you flying from, if London I don't believe Air Canada and American are direct flights0
-
I've flown BA, Virgin, American and Delta long haul.
Personally I'd always fly direct rather than a connection. So you're probably looking at BA / Virgin. I've not flown economy for a while (only business for me
) so it's a coin toss...
If it was me I'd look at -
Fly to LAX with Air NZ.
Stop the night there.
Drive the 4 hours up to SF.
I'd gladly stump up the £75 for hotel / hire car to fly Air NZ0
