Condenser tumble dryers - good?

  • Our condenser dryer has been fine. Remember in winter that you benefit from the heat gain in the house rather than it going outside. Free water for the iron, too.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Condenser. Keep the internal system fluff free and it's great, let it fluff up and it's awful. Therefore a regular de-fluff and it dries really well in 1 hour max. Gives off a lot of warmth so beware.

  • I inherited a 12 month old Bosch Condensing tumbledryer. It was crap!
I needed to run it twice to get the clothes dry.
We took it down the tip and I'm back to my indoor airer

My condenser has the option to be plumbed into a waste connection which means you don't have to empty the collection tank. The fluff filter is the same regardless of machine style, keep it clean and your clothes dry faster.

You can now buy a kit that will attach to the 4" vent hose and it collects all the steam and water and you just empty it when your done which means no leaving the window open in the freezing cold winter time. I've never used one but I like the sound of not having all the heat escaping.
Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!

Thanks for all your answers folks. I will now look around at the Miele and Zanussi ones, but I would be happy with a vented one, if I could make it look good.

Had a Bosch condenser dryer for over eight years now, no problems with drying or reliability would recommend them to anyone.

We have an AEG one- We wanted an A rated. I think at the time there were only 2 on offer. This one and a miele one (with was about 800 quid)

    Works well!!
  • I have an Indesit IS70C and I honestly hate it. It's noisy, not that well made and takes an age to dry the clothes. I only use it for towels, underwear and bedding and a normal non full load of towels takes about 2 hours to dry. If I could warrant the cost of selling this one and buying a cheap vented dryer I would, but the saving in electricity would be swallowed up by the £80+ extra I would need to put to any money I would get by selling my condensor.

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.
