Ok, I admit it, Ive never been to a little chef, so I dont know how it works.....do you order and pay, then get your food, or order, eat and then pay? to me that puts a different light on the matter..

If you pay before you get, then it would have been unrealistic to process refunds before evacuating, they had to prioritise...it was a potential safety issue, they were more concerned about getting people out which was the right thing.

In that case a quick letter to the manager is likely to get you a refund or complimentary drink.

If you pay after you eat, then why on earth did they make people pay before evacuating, they have not got their priorities right, if the building could be unsafe they should not be keeping customers there until they have settled their bill !

At the Little Chef attached to the Travelodge where I once worked, the procedure was that of a posh restaurant, maybe a little bit of pretending that they were something that they aren't on Little Chef's part. You come in, be seated, order, get food pay is how it was done, though knowing the company it could be different at each outlet. :)

We decided not to complain.... we just arent going to go back to that chain of restaurants in the future.... (not a loss to us ;) )
BTW it was my partner's decision :)
Like has been said... it wasnt worth complaining for the price of a stamp/coffee... they should have dealt with the situation better in the first instance.....
  • I see the point of the OP and I would write giving suggestions of how to improve safety and customer service.

As long as no one was hurt I'd have said seeing some silly woman unable to control a car and come through a wall of a restraunt worth my coffee price. :A

And you're quibbling over the price of a cup of coffee :confused::confused:

    JEEZ!!!!!!!
I know I would if I had not been able to drink it, whatever their reason. Imagine paying for a coffee, only to be told they had "ran out" of coffee.
