Enjoy Car Hire

I used them last year for a 2 week hire from Alicante.
They used an unknown car hire firm called Dickmanns who operated out a little hut in the upper car park, nowhere near the normal car hire firm.
The car we got was not as clean as normal and there was an engine warning light on all the time. As I had to come back to the airport to pick up a friend the day after we got it, I questioned the light and was told not to worry.......
The car survived our hire.

I have tried booking with them again for a long weekend and now need to change my arrival day. Although their documentation says you can easily amend by selecting LOG IN from their homepage, I cannot find it!!!! I have emailed them 3 times and still no reply......
I will not be using them again with follow up service like that.

Stay away from "Enjoy Car Hire".
I hired a car at Larnaca, Cyprus aairport.
Payed over 50E as deposit.
When they learned I wished to go the north of Cyprus,
They refused giving me the car.

I was left without a traveling mean, and without my deposit.

I booked through Enjoy for a 2 week hire at the start of May and paid a deposit. I hadn't heard of them and asked if their provider is in the arrivals terminal building and the cars kept on the airport site. I didn't want to faff around looking for a rep or a caravan in some far off terminal. I was assured that was the case. I thought great, it will probably just be go to the desk of one of the well-known hire firms. The confirmation came through saying go to Dickmann's, which I have never heard of. It said their office is a caravan in the car park i.e. not in the terminal building.

On arrival, I went to look for this caravan and the only one was Hertz for returns. I asked if anyone has heard of Dickmann's and nobody knew. I should point out that I have been going to Valencia for many years and my wife is from there. We know our way round the airport and my wife does the talking when my limited Spanish runs out. My wife asked loads of people who work there if they had heard of Dickmann's or knew where there was a caravan office. Absolutley no sign of them.

So we tried to phone the number on the reservation from Enjoy. Number does not exist. So we tried to call the number in England. No answer.

After an hour of pointless searching, with hungry crying baby and hungry crying 2-year old, we gave up at rented from Hertz. There was a kind lady who took pity on us and matched the price on our Enjoy reservation. It cost a little more overall with the extras (2 child car seats) and she managed to give us a bigger car for the price. So all we really lost was the deposit paid for the original reservation.

So if you thinking of booking with Enjoy - be very careful. If you are going to Valencia - their provider is the mystical Dickmann's. If they do actually exist, then they are impossible to find. I have seen their website and they do have other locations (Alicante etc.) where they may actually have a presence in the airport. But personally I would avoid Enjoy and Dickmann's completely, and book with one of the major firms (Hertz, Budget, Avis etc). They are more expensive but least they are reliable.

I emailed dickmans last year as on their website it has Valencia marked on their locations map but doesn't allow you to book cars there. they replied that they do not operate from Valencia airport so I don't know what enjoy were playing it! I hope you've got your deposit back.

Enjoy actually did refund the deposit! The guy emailing was helpful and apologetic, and said that Dickmann's have stopped using Valencia but were supposed to be standing at the arrivals with a sign and our name. Of course this did not actually happen. Enjoy blames Dickmann's for not honouring the booking. I think Enjoy could have told us before and saved all the trouble. And I think some compensation would have been in order as it did end up costing extra. He did say I can have an extra discount if I go to them in future, though I won't risk using them again. So fair play from Enjoy customer services, though too little too late really.

No i wont used but the main thing is that you will have to choose yourself.Everyone has got their own experiences.It might be possible that the one which is disliked by the other will liked by you.

Beare of high excesses on insurance. We rented from europcar and they charged us the full 900 euros for very minor damage.

Faro Airport car hire is two distinct types/choices - those companies with offices at the terminal close to Arrivals, and those operating out of a van in Car Park 4 some distance walk from the terminal and chaotic at peak times. The latter are cheaper, but depends what kind of experience you can put up with!

I have used these people to hire a car in Portugal, essentially I would advised people to avoid them, you would be far better off dealing direct with a company at the airport (so you can see exactly what you get before you pay anything) or use an company such as Europcar or Avis etc.

Basically they are a bit like using an agent to book a Ryan Air flight. (They appear superficially cheap but if anything goes wrong they are not much use, and you will be stung for all manner or extras along the way making the end cost more.)

Additionally they put you in touch with the cheapest company they can find in Portugal and then charge you for doing so. The problem is that the 'cheap company' in Portugal is then not so cheap and they may be cheap because they are rubbish.

They arranged hire for me with a company in Portugal called Air Autos, any googling of Air Autos will find plenty of horror stories, and my experience with Air Autos was the worst car hire experience I have ever had by some margin.

In summary I would avoid Enjoy Car Hire, as they are not as cheap as they seem and I would very very strongly advise anyone to avoid Air Autos in Portugal.

I have learned my lesson, I wish anyone else the benefit of my experience.
