You need to appeal. You must get as much as evidence as possible - stating pretty much what you said in your first post. (biting tongue, medication doesn't stop the seizures, etc)

Try your local CAB for help to appeal. As much evidence as possible in the form of medical reports is useful.

Look at the entitled to website to see if the decrease in income makes you eligible for other means tested benefits, such as Working tax credits, local housing allowance, council tax benefit, child tax credits and similar.

Did you have any assistance from a welfare advice body to help you complete the forms as you were advised? They have great experience in preparing these forms and making very clear the care needs.

did you get help filling in the forms?i`m not criticising when i say some applications fail due to inadequate information being supplied by the claimant. You have 4 weeks to lodge an appeal,so 2 things to do,tele them for the appeal forms and then tele welfare rights see if they will help with the appeal(find them via local authority),or cab may help.
always go for the oral hearing, and always try to get representation(as above),this will increase your chances of success.
part of the appeal will be a different DM looking at the claim, which may mean you get dla without going to a tribunal.
good luck....and dont give up yet

hi thought id reply to you as i have epilepsy. i have most of my seizures at night and very rarely during day. my doctor told em to write on dla form worst case scenario so at a time when i am suffering the most amount of seizures. i get middle rate for care and lower rate for mobility dla, i also get free bus pass. as i get dla i also get disabled element of tax credits so this is also worth looking into if you get dla, as is council tax and housing benefit, good luck

This is fraud. DLA is meant to be done on an average day - but you are able to say "on bad days ...", "on better days..." & "on average days..."

You won't need a lot of evidence as long as it stipulates whether you have any warnings before a fit. If you do it's much more likey to be refused because you can then put yourself in a safe position and keep out of danger. If there is no warning then obviously it can be very dangerous. See if your GP will do you a brief letter. Good luck with it
I'll get you, my pretty, and your little dog too!
