I've got one too. It seems the surge of power that occurs when the bulb blows destroys the sensor. In fact my whole light glowed blue for a few seconds when the bulb blew. If the light is now permanently on, then it'll be okay because you can get a switch inserted in the cable to turn it on an off, however if it's off, then it'll be a new light most likely.Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
Think I will fit a switch to it. nuisance really as the whole point was to be able to have it at different lighting levels in my grandsons room. too nice to throw away though so will fit a switch.
Thankyou

When you replaced the bulb, did you replace it with exactly the same type? Touch lamps don't work very well (if at all) with energy saving bulbsTry saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!0

yes just an ordinary bulb. What a nuisance though if that happens all the time and what a waste of a lamp.

I assume you have checked that when the bulb went it didn't take the fuse in the plug with it? Replace the fuse and then see if the light works, if not I think you need a new lamp!

As mentioned, if the light won't come on, then fitting a switch will be no use. Just been informed now that my sister's touch lamp has blown as well now! Not very reliable, me thinks!Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0 -
If you want to get variable levels, get a normal lamp and stick a dimmer switch in the cable.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0
