PPI on credit cards

Hi, I found out last year that I was being charged for insurance on my credit card. I cancelled it straight away, but I had been paying it for 8 years and not realised. Even though I have cancelled it can I claim it back? I still have the credit card.

Thak you

    Hi there

You may have grounds to reclaim on this, but for more help and info you can post this on this thread here:
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.html?f=169
And also check the guidelines of reclaiming as well here:

    Good luck with this.;)

  • Thank you! :-)
  • You may be limited to 6 years reclaim.

How can you not have noticed the insurance on the statements?

Can you prove that you have paid a premium for that length of time?
If not you may have to ask them for the information - this will cost you £10.
  • Barclaycard took PPI premiums from my account for ten years. After a very long fight I have finally got hold of my original agreement Inot from BC - they refused to supply it despite a legal requirement). This proves, in black and white, I declined PPI - yet they are refusing to accept this. I am still fighting with them. Have you checked whether you really did sign up for this at the start? I suspect this practice is quite widespread (and of course completely illegal). Which bank was your card with?

Whilst you may have refused PPI at the beginning it is quite common for card lenders to telephone you at a later daye. Could this have happened?
