Hi All
Thanks for your notes of help & support re my earlier posts and my issues with whom I obtained the phone through - Thats not my issue now. (So please - no flaming comments of hereby 'unsaid' company)
I got the phone (eventually) on Monday.. but only got the opportunity to have a play last night & today.
Samsung Omnia ii
Nice peice of kit, as far as a total novices thoughts go anyway.
But, the booklet you get with it is total and utter tripe..and I haven't the foggiest on what I'm doing.
There seems to be about 3 different ways to get to each 'object' but depending on how you got there would depend on what what options you'd get when you open it.... Yes - Its a Windows mobile operating system - Bah
(Should've gotten the N97 Mini - LOL)
:rotfl:
Does anyone have any thoughts on where I can go to find out how to use this piece of technology or any help, hints & tips on this phone because despite researching it fully before hand, now I have it.... - Well thats a whole new kettle of fish!
[Edit]In addition - I can't seem to get it to auto-rotate... looked everywhere in the settings but can't find anything. - It rotates in video mode but not on the menu screens where having the space is handy
Cheers

Samsung manuals seem to be a joke. I have one of their photo displays and the manual is pretty thick - except it is 3 pages of poor instruction repeated in every known language under the sun.
I tried googling "Samsung Omnia manual" and got the following
http://solsie.com/2008/08/read-the-samsung-omnia-sgh-i900-user-manual/
http://www.manualnguide.com/download/manual-guide/samsung-omnia-sgh-i900-users-manual.html
Free downloads.
There are many more hits, but I am not sure which Omnia is the Omnia II. (i900?)0 -
Cheers guys
Omnia II = i800
I don't think its really the original manual I need (already have that but its just not telling me what I want - or I just can't find it)
I feel like I'm going in circles with this phone... (Don't get me wrong - it looks nice and all that - but my last one was a K800i so I'm not technologically up to date)
Auto rotate doesn't seem to work on apps or at times when you think it really would, and can't find ANY settings anywhere to check whether its on automatic or set for certain 'screens'.
Like home screen - being landscape would mean you could see more of your tiles / apps.
When typing / sending a text - it doesn't always rotate.
Not tried internet yet so can't comment (too scared to notch up a silly bill) but assuming that it will
Viewing contacts in alternative ways seems hit and miss - as is checking texts as sometimes the widget responds sometimes not, or is it just me and the widget I think I should be using to access is just there to 'look pretty' and tell me that I have 700 (lol) missed calls (cause I couldn't get it out the pocket and answered in time, and cause I turned it over trying to get it out and the damn thing thought I was in a meeting - lol)
Maybe I just need to faff around with it till I find what I want - but like a Rubiks cube I have a feeling that I'll find a way of doing something but forget how I got there....0 -
