So you didn't sign an agreement which detailed the terms & conditions, including these penalties, I assume.

Of course you did, you knew what the playing field was long ago.

Whilst there is a huge debate on the size of the charges, you didn't comply with your agreement. You may well get it wiped out if you phone up.

It's not the fault of Barclaycard.

It's the fault of you......I live in hope that one day someone will own up to one of these mistakes instead of constantly pointing the finger at the lender.

Good helpful advice Daveboy. Do you work for a bank if so which one as i will surly close the account. I congratulate people who give fair comment but for many years we have all been ripped off by charges. I for one have had money taken from my account for over two years and has it stated on my account 'bank commission' i questioned it and found it was for something i had cancelled over two years ago. Dispite Barclays investigating they have once again took the money this month and are very slow coming forward with the refund. Further to this i can state two more mistakes on my account alone this year of which Barclays have had to refund. But of course constantly pointing the finger at the lender is a no no

I would agree that to charge you for going over by 33p appears to be excessive, however have you actualy had the statement with teh charge showing?

I ask because I used to use my barclaycard for everything for many years and always found them to be really good, was never charged for exceeding my limit, and twice was late by a day or two so incured the full interest when I usually paid the balance off in full. On both occasions called them and explained that it was a mistake on my part very sorry etc etc and both times the interest charge was credited back as a good will gesture. Perhaps thing have changed over the last couple of years.
