Hi, sorry for such a silly question.
I have a 1997 Ford Fiesta LX 16v and I can't find the button to switch the hazard lights on! Haven't had the car long and don't have a manual.
Can anyone help?!?
Thanks,
Debra

do ford still have the harzard switch on the top of steering column?
Admittedly the last one I drove was a 1980 Orion!0 -
I do believe it is on top of the steering columb in the centre
they were also placed above the radio in the centre of the console0 -
It will probably be the only red button in front of you.;)
It is usually the most conveniently located switch as well, it shouldn't be difficult to find.0 -
I know it is usually pretty obvious but I just can't see it.
I never thought of looking on top of the steering column though so will have a look there when I finish work and let you know how I get on.
Thanks for your replies :-)0 -
My Mum has a Mk4.5 Fester V Reg (hateful little thing, try to avoid using it where possible!) and I'm pretty darned certain that the hazard light switch is in the cowling above the steering column in the same way it was in my 95N (mk 3)
(check that the little red push button hasn't been knocked off)
edit:
Little red button in front of the dials behind the steering wheelProud of who, and what, I am. :female::male::cool:0 -
situated behind the stearing wheel, infront of the clocks will be a red button with a whit triangle on top this is your hazrd warning light. i dont think ford relocated it from mk3 to untill new model. could be wrong on the new model havent seen it properly. but will be as above photo0

If you haven't found it by now it must be missing surely? Is there a hole in the top of the plastic behind the steering wheel?0

Ok then, I have got a hole with a light bulb in on top of my steering column. Looks like the button has gone missing. No wonder I couldn't find it! However when I press down on the light bulb in the hole it does click up and down but it doesn't do anything. Any idea how I would get the hazards to come on with no button?0

You need to take the cowling off and and replace the switch and put a new button on i suspect its a MOT failure point but not sure, You should be able to pick a replacement switch and cover for peanuts from a scrappy.0

Check under the bonnet, if someone has taken the switch away maybe they've taken the flasher unit away as well.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.
