Talk Talk or Orange?

Evening all,
I didnt get much response on another thread I posted. I basically am looking for reviews on these two companies (from personal experience), Talk Talk and Orange.
Both of these companies are on my LLU exchange, but apart from that its BT ADSL.
Which one do you think would be better to go with?
Not bothered about the price concept, but the advantages with orange is that I can keep my BT line. But with TalkTalk I have to switch to their LLU line which I have heard can be hard to take back to BT once activated.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Both have pretty poor CS, so if you must have LLU I would go with the cheapest, which is presumably the TT Essentials package.
Otherwise there are all the non-LLU operators to choose from if price is not a concern (though if it isn't, maybe you are on the wrong board?).
If you are looking for a basic broadband package, consider Plusnet Value which is probably £5.99 on your exchange (if it is a Market 3 exchange). But it has a 10GB cap.
I wouldn't see the TT LLU reversal as being a major problem. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks for your reply. Plusnet is £11.99 in my area as I am on Market 1 according to SamKnows. TT has better reviews than orange so I will probably change my details to them.0

If you have BT, TT and Orange as LLU providers on your exchange then it cannot be Market 1. Market 1 means BT are the sole provider. 2 or 3 providers including BT means it is Market 2. However, it's still £11.99 on Plusnet for Market 2.No free lunch, and no free laptop

that's my exchange and it says in the ofcom rating it is Market1. Is this not correct or am I reading this wrong?0 -

With 2 other LLU operators in addition to BT, it should be Market 2.
But it makes no difference to the Plusnet price if it's M1 or M2.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Please, plesae, please avoid either of these companies like the plague - unless you fancy tying yourself into an 18/24 month contract with a company who have no clue on CS.
We have spent the last two days trying to get out of our Orange contract without incurring charges and only managed to do so after picking through their terms and conditions and noting each and every breach. It was only when we started quoting their breaches from their contract that they finally relented and released us from the contract with no further charges (although we still await written confirmation on this, and will beleive it when we see it!)
TalkTalk were pretty much as bad in our experience, and failed to provide broadband to us within stated times on two or three occassions - hence us stupidly switching to Orange. We just wish we had checked out reviews before we changed...
Which?, USwitch, lovemoney.com or pretty much any other review/comparison site will back this up - they are both in the bottom 5 providers on most sites - but I would pick TalkTalk over Orange at a push. Orange customer service is, simply put - abismal.
If you can go with BT, I would do that, even if it does cost a few £ a month extra.
Hope this helps!0 -
I would seriously not bother with Orange - I am looking to change from them asap.
I have had nothing but problems with them for the last 2 weeks with hardly any internet connects (I'm lucky today, I've had to spend 1/2 hr tweaking the router).
I have also some friends who are with Talk Talk & hate them, so I'd consider some other alternative.
I've contacted Sky this morning & am about to check out BT & O2.0 -
I have no experience with Talk Talk but avoid Orange like the plague. They are both devious and less than honest changing their terms and conditions at will to suit themselves. Plus net although owned by BT seem to be competitive and offer a reasonably priced service including the phone line rental at comparable rates to BT and free landline calls inc 0870 at all times for £4.95 month. I changed from Orange before their last massive price increase and saved over £12 per month (would be even more now)0
