I agree that oil & filter changes can be a bit of a pig, but I've never found a car where its *that* hard to do (apart from my brothers escort, but that was his fault!)

I can't believe that many of you are saying that it is ok to charge £75 for an MOT! If VOSA find out, he will be in BIG trouble! £53 is the most you can charge for an MOT, you can charge less but you CANNOT charge more! VOSA rules. If he has to take it elsewhere to get the MOT done, then that is his problem, he will pay a trade price to the garage for the MOT anyway, nowhere near the full price.

Who gives a flying fig if he picks it up? That is his choice, he is not allowed to rip you off like that! We pick cars up but do not load the cost of the MOT or service to do that!

He is charging £75 to take a car for the MOT - what's the problem Jeannie?

Is he not supposed to get paid for this task or does he work for free. Does he also give his time for free when waiting on the car ?

What has VOSA got to do with it? He isn't doing the MOT.

Master Technicians talking tripe and OP's off their rocket and knowing hee haw - what a place :rotfl:
  • Price sounds fair to me. Place I use for MOT only charge £35, most charge around £40-£50. Bear in mind that what he charged for MOT may also include pre-MOT checks and time spent taking it for the MOT.
