I signed up for the service, when I had an egg card as they were giving out tenners. I didn't think much of it. The security liabilities concerned me as I had technically given egg security details of another account. Though nothing went wrong I think in hindsight I was naive and should not have signed up, tenner or no tenner.I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. I've thought along the same lines - one thing that may easy your mind is that you can't use Egg to look at your other accounts on any computer. You have to have downloaded the password safe (thingy!!) before you're able to access non-Egg accounts. Naturally you can look at your Egg stuff.
I signed up for it for a tenner simple as that!Never attach your ego to your position....0 -
It may have been secure with the download; I'm no expert on such matters. Or as secure as anything can be.
It was more a question of liability. You're not meant to give out the details to an account to anyone else, even another ‘secure’ organization. Had fraud occurred, my bank could, I presume, argue that I had not behaved in a secure manner with my account details by giving them to other organizations for nothing more than a crisp ten pound note.I wonder why it is, that young men are always cautioned against bad girls. I agree with what you say saucepot but i would imagine those banks who allow access to there sites via the egg site must have an agreement i will try to find out unless somebody out there already knows.Cashback earned since joining MSE:-Greasy Palms £372.83,Topcashback £57.15, R-Points 735 points, Cashback kings £131.28,My Shopping Rewards£37.30, Reward Circle 540 Points, Quidco £163.31:TPlay To Win!0

Egg guarantee security against fraud. Anyhow, I've added a dormant credit card account just for the tenner. After I get it I will delete the CC account.0

I actually quite like the EGG set up the cashback it gives on purchases and the interest is not bad either i quite like the idea of accessing all accounts quickly via one site so i have e-mailed EGG and asked where i stand regarding security, liability and third parties they will get back to me within 24HRS I will post there reply in this thread in case anybody is interested.Cashback earned since joining MSE:-Greasy Palms £372.83,Topcashback £57.15, R-Points 735 points, Cashback kings £131.28,My Shopping Rewards£37.30, Reward Circle 540 Points, Quidco £163.31:TPlay To Win!0

Condition 3.1 is enough for me NOT to make use of the service on any 'live' accounts. Of course, if you have a couple of quid in a semi-redundant account then there's an easy £10 to be made.0 -

I signed up for it for the tenner as well. Its the other current account is still there but I don't use it really. I access the current account through the banks website.
I might actually delete it now though.
Apart from that I like the egg money card and use it all the while.0 -
I've done the same - now that's i've got my tenner I've removed the added accounts.
However, the password safe (that you have to download) holds the log-in information; Egg don't. Whilst, in theory, Egg could access this information, they would inevitably be accused of breach of privacy.Never attach your ego to your position....0
