Talk Talk - Better Have a Broad Account

My sister signed up with Talk Talk for their much publicised deal of a one off payment for £29.99 (connection charge) and then customers would be billed for £9.99 Call Plan + £11.00 Line Rental and FREE BROADBAND FOREVER.

Naturally she assumed that this would all be arranged under the same account in her name.

However, what has actually happened is that Talk Talk has setup 2 accounts and the company has billed her part for May 2006 (she joined them on 25th May) and then the £20.99 and then a further £19.00

Of cause this is not what she signed up for and when she phoned the company she was told that the extra amount was for payment towards next months calls (prepayment) as there was no mention before she signed up doe anyone know if she can cancell the contrct as Talk Talk is promoting this package every where but the promise of a good deal seems to have turned sour.

Anyone out there with simulas.

id be wary of TT and their free BB, a family member was disconnected for no reason and she hasnt had a reason for it yet, she has got out of the contract eventually after contacting ofcom and a bit of wrangling

If she spoke to their !!!!bag Indian call centre then they don't know Jack (literally).

Do everything by post - then you have proof and an audit trail in case you have to go to court. Write to the complaints letter in the terms and conditions for service, if no joy then write to company secretary at the registered office for the company and notify them that unless they repay all amounts owed and correct the problem then you will seek to recover the amount owed by Small Claims Court action.
