Blackberry or i-phone?
Hi everyone,
Im due for an upgrade the end of this month and my contract ends in april.
Im wondering whether to stick with orange and upgrade now, or leave it till april??
Also, which phone and package to have.
Im currently on dolphin 25 and get unlimited txs and 300 minutes a month?
Can anyone recommend anything??
Thanks in advance

you will get the iphone followers say iphone and same for blackberry ,
get the one you can afford and with the stuff you need ,
you pay a premium for iphone put you pay £5 extra a month for blackberry BIS ,
if you cannot afford it it's not time to upgrade keep your old one,no one will think bad of you for keeping it longer than contracted timethere or their, one day i might us the right one ,until then tuff0 -
I've got both - a Blackberry for work, and have just upgraded my personal contract to an iPhone...
Have to say there is no contest - get an iphone - for features, usability, looks, it wins all round.0 -
I agree with Kte I have both and much much prefer the iPhone due to better accessibility, better screen, the ability to zoom easily (good for those 'ahem' specialist sites), better internet access, the apps store etc etc. On the downside you have to use iTunes (proper pain in the bum) whereas on the blackberry you just drag and drop music/video etc. (FYI I have 8GB iPhone 3G and Blackberry Bold 9000). OH! the most annoying thing about the Blackberry....that blinkin trackball makes a load of noise!'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Abraham Lincoln.
I have opinions, you have opinions. All of our opinions are valid whether they are based on fact or feeling. Respect other peoples opinions, stop forcing your opinions on other people and the world will be a happier place.0 -
I have just been through the same mental gymnastics. In the end, having watched a 10 year old use upwards of 1Gb of my BroadBand on his Iphone Touch in 3 days over Christmas, I went for a £30 per month Blackberry Bold 9700 deal with Orange. The phone is simple to operate and it has all the Apps that I want. The set up is a breeze and the BIS push email service works brilliantly. When I am at home, the phone switches seamlessly to WiFi. I am told that the 500Mb a month usage allowance equates to about 20 minutes browsing per day. My only moan is that having asked the 3rd party phone provider to give me written contract details, this never happened. They also signed me up to a Broadband service that I said that I didn't want.0

If you are happy to change networks and port your number over I know that O2's price for the Blackberry is inclusive of the package unless things have changed since I last had a blackberry with them
As for which price plans are best, you are better off going onto their website or calling up to see their deals as I know you can add bolt ons, I think they give you a choice of a free bolt on when u buy or upgrade online.
As for which is best, I 'personally' prefer my IPhone to my Blackberry. I use my BB for msn and documents to go and thats about it really (in addition to calling and texting ofcourse), everything else, I use my IPhone for.'Sometimes you just need to keep your mouth shut':j0 -

i think i may just wait till april and see what deals are about then.

the new models ditched the trackball for a sensor.0 -
I have a BB 9700 which is great, I get instant email notifications of replies on MSE, then have to use my iPhone to actually be able to view it on a decent screen, decently formatted lol0

I just got the 9700 yesterday loving it, constant push email, BBM is excellent, and some other top notch features, however I actually still prefer the iPhone. Browsing on the BB is poor, the webkit Safari is excellent for browsing the net, the iPhone has some excellent apps which are lacking on the BB. I do miss a handful of apps, the interface on the iPhone is far easier to use.
As a result I've bought a iPod touch so I can have the best of both worlds.
The BB is more business catered, for overall fun the iPhone is the phone to have.Smoke-Free since 15/11/08
