So I will be updating this occasionally, with random thoughts and posts just like the thread title, which makes me smile.
Firstly welcome to the board formally!
Secondly, if you've put it in the fridge then it's not real ale so it's not beer so you don't count it.... well my preference is beer and whiskey (not together in the same glass) and we all need so pleasure and holidays so, provided you've budgeted for them then that's perfectly acceptable (unlike drinking ice cold lager...
)
Best wishes with you plans, I hope you've done all the usual contingency on savings etc and do enjoy the time with the children as well as targeting the MFD.
I've found a diary here very helpful personally and everyone on this board is very supportive :A0 -
Well done for switching utilities and taking apart the wardrobe!Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Wow. its very bizzare seeing names and posters that you have followed for months/years now posting to you.....
None the less its just another source of inspiration...
Hello Stuart Gmc , lets get this out of the way shall we.
I have to defend the beer thing. Firstly if you have to name your beer after an animal or flower, when they bear no relevance to the area or production techniques youn should be three years old an not a master brewer.
Secondly beer should not be chewable, it is a drink.
And C, I refuse to drink anything that if you saw it in a toilet you would flush staright away and book an appointment with a doctor.
I am however partial to a proper Irish single malt, so we may have some common ground and a drink if this small world ever threw us together at a bar.
To return to mse ing, I have 3 months all bills covered, a bit spare for the car, which just like my children i couldnt do without but.......has occasional spending needs.
I also put some more money away in the "10 per cent" fund which is my aim to have another ten percent ready to go on August 11th. woo hoo.
Ive also just booked at night at Deveres in Chester for the oh and me, but dont panic I got it for £19.. which as we will arrive at first oppurtunity and use all the leisure facilities etc etc works out at less than a £1 an hour for two. Bit of an indulgence but i could take soome of my fizzy pop lager with me.:p

Brilliant I seem to have defeated StuartGMC on the beer debate, or he is slumped in a corner nursing a pint of Hobgoblin...........

Anyhoos...
Thanks for the posts, I can see this being highly addictive.
So Ive been mulling over some of the points and a question popped its head up.. Your thoughts please.
Is their any benefit to reducing the term rather than just overpaying, My initial thoughts are that if I reduce the term then the payments go up, which are covered but I would loose flexibility in case something went wrong beyond the 3 months standby fund. (if you want to hear God laugh just tell her your plans..)If your not dead & not on the floor, get up and crack on. and stop whinging.0 -
Hi IAO, as long as your disciplined and make the overpayments every month i dont think it would be of any additional benefit to reduce the term. Some people like reducing the term because then they are "forced" to overpay. I personally like the security of knowing that ifeverything went pear shaped then i can just stop overpaying. Maybe you could check with your mortgage provider and see if the worst did happen would you be able to change back to your original term??

Oh yes....
Its a Yo sushi style convetor belt with nothing but cookies on it, straight from the oven, any cookie that isnt squishy inside, doesnt have just the right amount of chips and isnt the right side ends up as M&s cookies. These arent just cookies these are the dark side cookies.
They go particulary well with the free bar, served by any celebrity in the world you like, and I did I mention that they have to wear what you tell them to.
