Don't be an impertinent little sh it.
You asked for advice and people kindly spent their time offering it.
Yes, I appreciate everyone's responses and suggestions. However my post was only targeted at CHRI5, as I don't think saying "Most optimistic post of the week." is really advice and no need for it to be posted. If you know everything already, why ask for peoples advice ?0 -
Why do you have to be such a rude and unpleasant @rse ?
There is not much point in being able to spell and use correct punctuation when you lack basic manners and courtesy !
Maybe no point to your eyes, but I'm sure it matters to others. Who wants to sift though a mound of !!!!?
Sorry, did you have some technical knowledge to impart? I may have missed it. I'm guessing you've none to contribute.
By the way, you forgot that comma.
Another keyboard warrior soon to sink into obscurity.... :rolleyes:0 -

Because I don't, my post was to show that there is laptops I can buy in my budget which were cheap with Core 2, 3GB etc. Therefore there must be surely other laptops out there I could buy for £350 with a graphics card, be it used. After all, nothing wrong with me getting the best for my budget, is there?
I agree with CHRI5, your post was and is optimistic.
When I read your thread title, my initial thoughts were 'hmm ..the big companies.. PC World, Ebuyer, CCLOnline, LaptopsDirect, Comet.. Dabs.'. and then I thought.. 'wait.. a new laptop from these places for under £350 with great specs.. I wish!'.
Yes, you did demonstrate that it's possible to find a laptop for under £350 for those specs.. but you found those laptops on eBay and Gumtree. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against eBay or Gumtree, but seriously.. are these two places the first places that the majority of people would look when purchasing something so expensive? Surely they would want to visit and suggest places which are relatively more reliable and safe?
I assume that CHRI5 probably based his post on big retailers.
Not to be rude but eBay and Gumtree call for a bit of luck, and you're kind of asking us to do the work for you whereby we sift through 1000s of listings to find you the laptop you want.September £5 a Day Challenge

Have to disagree with you.
Buying from Argos or any of the big retailers on ebay is just as safe as buying from their normal online channels.
But his big mistake was to quote a single long expired Gumtree listing as an example of market price. That led me to question his...erm...experience.
Just a bit of a silly thread, in my humble opinion.0 -
Tesco did have a decent spec £379 Toshiba Core2Duo 2GHz laptop just before Christmas. Its not in stock just now but they sometimes pop back on the site.

You can definitely get Core2 Duo for about £220 - £300 if you are ok to go second user - like an IBM T60.0 -

Yeah, exactly. From this.. I just got the impression that the OP wanted us to sift through hundreds of listings to find him the laptop... heck, if I found a laptop with those specs for under £350 I would make sure as few people as possible know about the listing!September £5 a Day Challenge
