O2 Direct Debit Error

Hi, wondered if anybody would be able to answer my question.

I bought an iphone on contract about 5 months ago and O2 setted up a monthly direct debit. I've had no problems until 2 months ago when O2 mistakenly took twice the monthly direct debit amount out of my account. They did however refund the money but now I want to get out of the contract because the iphone is too delicate (expensive to replace if lost/stolen, insurance is a joke) so because they've made an error could I use it as a means to get out of the contract without paying extra charges to come out of the contract early?

A billing error is no grounds to cancel a contract, sorry.

Your only way out is to pay the outstanding term.

Sorry, you have no grounds to cancel your contract.
