I too must be a NUMPTY spotter cause I definately found one here!

Enclosures are a must, there is no way more accidents are caused by enclosures than not!!!!!!!

    Hey Carl

Are you sure you didn't bang your head when you fell off your trampoline without the enclosure!!!!!!

Believe what you like. I'll believe the evidence of my own experience and that of the extensive research done in a far larger market place than our own. How the hell can the person in the A&E department state that it's a 4-1 ratio of non-enclosure to enclosure injuries and use that as a meaningful statistic? Do you therefore know the ratio of enclosures to non-enclosures in your hospital catchment area? No, I doubt you do. If there are ten times more people without enclosures than there are with enclosures, then you'd find that the ratio is actually 1 injury per 10 enlosures and 0.4 per of an injury per 10 non-enclosures. Without knowing the actual ratio (and spare me your pseudo surveys, no-one truly knows, but far fewer enclosures are sold than trampolines, so do the maths) it is utterly impossible to know the true accident rate.

Hey, surprisingly enough, EXACTLY this survey was done in America and, guess what? Yep, the incidence of treatable injuries was FAR higher on enclosed trampolines than those without.

Therefore STOP ganging up like a bunch of sheep and badmouthing me because the proof doesn't match your personal opinions and start opening your eyes to what the real problem is here and that is inattentive or plain stupid parents letting the children use trampolines (both with and without enclosures) in a dangerous manner.

Flufff if your daughter has, indeed, already "bounced herself into the hedge once" then she is not using the trampoline properly and you should either teach her to do it properly, get someone else to do it if you are incapable or stop her using the trampoline altogether.

There are far too many parents and obviously several of them are on this thread) that think they can chuck up a trampoline and let their kids just do what they want, oh and the enclosure will protect them. Get real! If your kids have not got the skills or balance to stay on and use a trampoline properly they should not be on there in the first place and you are not doing you job as a parent if you allow them to hurt themselves. Accidents do NOT happen if they are behaving responsibly on the trampoline and, although in certain circumstances trampoline enclosures COULD save an injury, they actually contribute in many ways to far more injuries than they save.

Those of you on this thread who are unable to grasp the concept of what I am saying here are just not worth arguing with, I'm afraid.

Hands up who thinks 'numpty' wasn't strong enough.

Having a look through posts in other threads made by this ****** (fill in anything you like, they all seem to apply) he only comes to these forums to sling abuse at other posters or to try and ram one of his warped opinions down their throats.

I'm surprised you need me to, it's obvious to everyone else.

If you want to report anything you should report yourself for your arrogant, conscending and ill informed abuse of all the caring parents on this board.

When you finally say why you think they're dangerous it's a 'feeling' rather than any inherent danger with the product itself. I assume for the same reasons you want all protective clothing, helmets, seatbelts etc etc etc banned because they all give us an overly false sense of security.

Everyone's entitled to an opinion but that's not what you offered.

    1. What utter tosh. I haven't even come close to what you've claimed and certainly not to "all the caring parents on this board". Stop trying to speak for other people when they haven't asked you to be their spokesperson.

    2. I have not mentioned any such thing as a "feeling" - what planet are you on? I've mentioned an extensive study done in America, that's nothing to do with a "feeling". Who's the numpty?

    3. You do talk some nonsense. This has nothing to do with safety equipment. Enclosures are an ill-designed panacea for the guilty, inattentive or misinformed parent.

    4. Yep. I'm entitled to an opinion and I'm giving one. My opinion is that you don't know what you're talking about and you're not alone in that.

It wasn't ME that turned this into a personal tirade, it was YOU. Don't try and climb onto your high horse now.

If you don't feel up to tackling me on your own, don't start fights you aren't capable of winning.

Nothing to win, the more you go on the more foolish you look :)

Libitina, don't apologise, many people have benefitted from your post so it was worthwhile, I probably would've gone for it if I hadn't already got one similar. Don't let him put you off if you come across any more bargains.

This is a forum about saving money. Save money, don't buy an enclosure, it's a waste of money.

b1g1an... I'd carry on the argument but it would be like trying to explain particle physics to a frog. Forget it - go back to wherever your planet is, I'm sure the sky is a nicer colour there...
