You could put a layer of bark chippings around the perimeter of the trampoline to cushion any falls.
Because the other finding of the American Survey was that many injuries were caused by allowing access (via steps or hole-sited trampolines) to those too young to actually BE on them! Like the wobbly two-year old mentioned earlier by the alleged "numpty" spotter...
Make them high enough so that those too small to use them CAN'T use them without help and you solve a whole lot of problems.0 -

Do they sell them at all B&Q's or is it just specific ones? There is no details on the website!!!0 -
A friend, very fit and sporting, twisted his knee on a trampoline. He had to have his leg amputated.
I won't be letting my children play on these - you certainly can't wrap kids in cotton wool, but you can take sensible decisions. Enclosures will not prevent accidents. People need to be more aware of the dangers of trampolines - if you are lucky, all you will do is fall off and have a bump. Falling awkwardly on the trampoline itself is a lot more worrying.0 -
Flipping eck! I'm starting to regret buying ours0

I wondered whether the trampoline needs to be pinned down to the ground once it is erected. If the answer is yes, do they provide the pieces/pins with the trampoline?0

Very few injuries are caused by children falling OFF trampolines and, I say yet again, they are NO substitute for supervision, often creating a false sense of security when those children being left to the mercy of the enclosure because of lack of parental supervision should actually be given the benefit of being properly looked after.
Advice trampolines with enclosures or else do not buy one!! (That what the parents say when their children are injuried)Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE Forum Team0 -

(4to 1) of course children will hurt themselves and parental supervision is still important. Enclosures DO stop injuries our A+E Dept have the proof.Googling is only good information if there is sound scientific research based evidence. But again people will believe what they want to believe!!!

I'm surprised you need me to, it's obvious to everyone else.
If you want to report anything you should report yourself for your arrogant, conscending and ill informed abuse of all the caring parents on this board.
When you finally say why you think they're dangerous it's a 'feeling' rather than any inherent danger with the product itself. I assume for the same reasons you want all protective clothing, helmets, seatbelts etc etc etc banned because they all give us an overly false sense of security.
Everyone's entitled to an opinion but that's not what you offered.0 -
I wasnt going to put my enclosure up...but am doing so now to avoid complaints from neighbours.....I have nasty ones and am just waiting for kids to be accused of staring over fence as they bounce. As enclosure reaches floor it will stop my dog from going underneath it and doing pee pees.
My daughters already bounced herself into the hedge once.0 -

I picked an 8ft trampoline and enclosure at the B&Q in Swindon for £110, reduced from £129.
All their trampolines, enclosures, covers etc are 15% off at the moment.
Just about squeezed it into the car and assembled it yesterday evening. Very pleased with it for the price, although not as excited as our 5yr was when she saw it in the garden this morning !0
