If you have double cream turn it into soured cream by adding a few splashes of lemon juice (bottled is fine). wait a few mins then stir it, it should thicken up nicely - I always do this and it's great. Thanks for the replies. He has had paella, stir frys, schnitzel and chinese-y meals like sweet and sour before. We often have an English breakfast as a brunch meal at w/ends, so I don't think he would think that was 'different' and living in Yorkshire, we do get Yorkshire puddings on menus that come with their meal inside them- otherwise I'd have done that as Yorkshire pudding is his favourite. I liked the spanish omelette idea but we had omlettes (without potatoes) last night for tea and sorry but our local co-op does not sell squid:p
I have decided to go for the stronganoff as it's one of my fav meals but I don't remember doing it at home for a very long time and pretty sure kids have never tried it. I just had to go out and get some sour cream (walked on the roads instead of the pavements). Just need to decide whether to make it a pork or beef one.0 -
