Something for tea we've never had before

is what my 9yo requested as he went out of the door to school this morning.:eek:. Now I realise you can't help as you don't know what we have eaten before but am finding it a bit hard to think of where to start in thinking something up in the first place.
Don't wish to go to shops as the pavements are very icy and slippy and the car's battery is dead so can't go to any supermarkets.
We have chicken, pork and beef in as well as spuds, rice, pasta, noodles and various fruit and veg and spices, but everything I've looked up so far requires an ingrediant I haven't got.
Help before I sent DS to his room with a slice of dry bread and water saying he's never tried that before for tea.:rotfl: Just kidding.:p

My son keeps asking for a massive yorkshire pudding. One so big that he could fit all his other dinner into it.

I keep meaning to make him one. I might do it tonight xx

Or - if you've got eggs - what about a spanish omelette? If you've got potatoes and peas then you can improvise the rest of it.

Get him to help you make your own flatbreads and then fill them with spicy chicken/ beef and veggies?

A variation of Jerk chicken with rice and peas, using what you have in.

    Oven baked risotto

    Make your own chicken schnitzels

spendless don't worry about not having all the ingredients, pick a receipe where you do have the majority of stuff and miss out or improvise on the missing stuff.

if you have some coconut milk & ginger, then beef noodles would be my choice.

pasta with tinned toms& herbs (can add meat if wanted)

savoury rice with chopped up pork (or sausages) and peas - I add everything to the rice in stages and then serve with a dollop of brown sauce.

stroganoff - lovely done in a slow cooker too.

Dinner in a yorkie is fab :D

    What about a risotto?

Going back to yorkies, I do flat ones (large tray) then you place beef/chicken slices on it and gravy spread, roll like tortillas then slice and pin. Serve with roasties and veg.

Oh I'd be mean, cook just plain boiled rice, bet he's never just had that before and might teach him a lesson!
One day I might be more organised...........
