I am not in a position to advise I'm afraid BUT as someone else on here has said, seek some advice from CAB or similar as a priority. I sympathise with your situation.
My husband was once out of work at one stage and we ended up using nearly all our savings to pay mortgage and utilities, food and heating as he was told "As your wife works part-time you are not entitled to anything". I understand how frustrating it must be for you:mad:
I wish you and your girlfriend lots of luck and hope the future will soon look much brighter for you both. :jLMSM

No, I am not expecting my MP to find my son a job. Its just that there is a scheme whereby when you have been unemployed for so long you can go onto something that guarantees a placement/interviews etc and because my son did a 13 work trial thing (cause he wanted to work) and it was only for an extra £15 a week its classed as a break in claiming so therefore he is not entitled to join this scheme thing. He also broke his hand and had to sign off but only for 3 weeks and they said it was again a break in signing. He has made a complaint that there is no help and that because he did a work scheme on top of his dole (it was actually working 40 hours a week for the council TBH for an extra £15) then he not entitled. What do you expect their MP to do - give them a job?
SO yes, I am annoyed. We have asked that she find out and maybe do something about, these guaranteed placements/interviews and the rules surrounding them. I don't think its a bad thing to ask your MP to help.
I hope you were not implying that my son was not "trying" to find a job himself.0 -
Roughly 88.80 before tax.
I have been turned down for rent assistance.
My comments are not intended to sound trolling. As you can tell I am highly stressed and constant nit-picking of my posts isn't helping, so I apologise.0 -
Seems to me that DMG24 is the same with everyone. Hence my post above.Dont let DMG24 worry you - I seem to recall she has been asked before by someone to stop posting on their thread because of the type of comments she makes (frequently!).
HOpe you get this situation sorted out soon - oh....and PLEASE dont tell the DWP in any future type situation that there is any personal connection between you and your landlord......aaagh!

dmg is a highly respected member of the board. She may lack the warm hugs of other posters but she is 100% correct on her benefits advice.

Erm, that would be fraud and not recommended!
It is also against forum rules...0 -

MSE does not condone posts about not telling the LA about being related to the landlord as it is something that should be reported by law.0
