I give up with Asda

Asda are not making enough profit for people to come into the store and use these vouchers, they are way behind Tesco and Sainsbury are not far off taking over Asda for number 2 spot, Asda want to keep its customers sweet but I bet they have been told to stop these vouchers, Tesco will let them roll in as they know they can double Asdas profits even with the vocuhers.
Walmart want like this tactic.
I didnt even get a £250 bonus from Asda because they missed out on there profit margins, disgrace.Total CC Debt: £1750
Overdraft £1300
Car Loan £1750
Savings £0
Redundancy OCT £2000
Wage this month £5400 -
Last time I was in Asda - don't go regularly as Sains & Tesco are nearer - I went through the till where you scan things yourself, for the very first time. Decided to try with my vouchers and up to a point it worked, without any problem. Got £5 off a bill of £18.26.
The one voucher that wouldn't work doesn't work at Sains either! They have to be vouchers with a barcode of course so that they scan.
Another thing that is well worth doing at Asda is noting the prices of what you buy (unless you are buying for an army) and checking your bill after paying. If you find an overcharge, see Customer Services and if you are right,
they give you a voucher (£2 I think, if I remember correctly) against your next shop, as an apology for getting it wrong. I find it almost embarrassingly generous - but I don't refuse it! I once bought some vegetables reduced - from about 65p to 30p - and was charged the full price. Most people wouldn't be bothered for 35p, I was and got the £2 voucher for my trouble.

Yep, and it's worth going to the Asda website to print off a copy of their policy on this, becasue it actually states the £2 giftcard is per product overcharged. Apparently many stores do not know this!
I read this on an old thread and now carry a printout of the relevant webpage in my car in case I fancy a change from Tesco one day.:DPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Don't understand your logic I'm afraid. Where people use genuine in-date manufacturer's coupons (as I do, always with a cashier who is happy to accept them) the store can (and does) redeem these at a profit. Handling charge is only about 2p per coupon but think how many coupons Asda redeems countrywide..!
Secondly, a couple of months ago there was a similar view to yours mentioned on an old thread, which was replied to by an Asda employee. They pointed out that most stores are running at (I think) 95% coupon validity so there is no chance of them considering removing this policy at the mo.
So if only 5% of coupons are written off (perhaps because of dodgy people shoving non-acceptable ones through the self-scan, as mentioned on another new thread today) then the handling charge on all the others more than makes up for this. Add to that the fact that shoppers like myself will buy more if we can use coupons (indeed I hardly shop anywhere for groceries that will not accept them now, so Sainsbury's has lost a large - £100 plus - weekly shop from me, compared to last year when I had not discovered MSE......).
So don't feel guilty all you fellow voucher-holics! You are adding to the store's profits and saving yourself pounds! :TPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

at the store i work at, its 10%, and if we are not 100% sure we have to call supervisors, which i do (for a quiet life).
about a week or so, i got someone trying to get 20-odd% off, when i (politely) said i wouldn't be able to take them, she demanded to be moved to another till, made a right scene, and when i called a supervisor, she confirmed the same.
customer then had a go at supervisor, but i was told i was right to question it- oh well c'est la vie
some stores (including netto) dont take any, i sometimes get sent clubcard vouchers (usually about £1.50s worth), those are all i bother usingthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back thenMercilessKiller wrote: »BH is my best mate too, its ok
