Bluetooth phone somewhere

I have a bluetooth dongle so I can use a bluetooth headset on my computer.

Each time I pair the headset to my computer when the computer is searching for devices it discovers a bluetooth phone called !!!! it as well as my headset.

This doesn't bother me but when my grandson is here he sees it and is at the stage where he goes into hysterics:rotfl: and runs around saying !!!! it.

And of course when I change users so he can use my computer it always finds this phone.

I have asked around my neighbours but no one will admit to having a phone called !!!! it.

So is there anyway I can send a message to this phone? When I try and pair with it, my computer gives a code to enter into the phone but of course I don't have the phone.

I also don't have a bluetooth enabled phone myself.
Using windows 7

Bluetooth range is usually around 10m, so it must be close by. However, I don't see why your always doing a search, you should just pair your headset once and then it's done.

In terms of message sending, you can't send a text, but maybe can send a note. It isn't necessarily a phone either, could be any bluetooth device.

It much be on all the time as well. BT takes some power and most devices have it turned off by default. Could be a pc or a laptop with its BT on.
As Astec says, it must be close, either in your house or the ones either side. Any further than that and you wouldn't be picking it up at all...

I turn my computer off each night and also when I plug the headset in to be charged it switches off.

It is just windows 7 doing its thing when the computer is switched on, it searches for everything

I went for a wander wearing my bluetooth headset and the range is quite far, across the road and within range of 4 houses as the dongle is right next to a window.

I suppose it could be that, I thought it was a phone, how could I find out, or even could I find out.

There is also a hotel about 1/2 a mile away from me and I can pick up their wifi, can't do anything with it as it wants a credit card number.

I live fairly high up with only single and 2 storey houses so nothing to block any signals.
