Download HostsXpert

and then follow the below steps.
* Unzip HostsXpert.zip
* It will create a folder named HostsXpert in whatever folder you extract it to.
* Run HostsXpert.exe by double clicking on it.
* click the Make Writeable? button.
* click Restore Microsoft's Hosts File and then click OK.
* Click the X to exit the program

Can anyone help? i am running the latrst firefox browser release but have come across a problem i cant correct when i bring up the google webpage and do a search then it lists the relevant results i then click on one but instead of loading the page it takes me to a different page. So i have run virus scans and maleware scans but everything seems ok i am running a newish laptop with windows 7 all up to date i also have ad blocker running i'm pretty sure i'ts ad related any help would be appreciated

I have came across a browser worm like this recentlly. Get Ad-aware and do a scan on your main drive.0

Finally after a lot of scans the problem was a google tracking cookie called double click i used adaware to remove it and went on the google opt out site and all seems well, i dont know if its coincidence but even firefox seems to be a bit more responsive and faster. Thank you for everyone who took the time to reply it has been very helpful and if i have more problems at least now i know where to come.0

You might want to try SPYBOTS 'immunise' feature to block things like that
