Firefox Problems

Can anyone help? i am running the latrst firefox browser release but have come across a problem i cant correct when i bring up the google webpage and do a search then it lists the relevant results i then click on one but instead of loading the page it takes me to a different page. So i have run virus scans and maleware scans but everything seems ok i am running a newish laptop with windows 7 all up to date i also have ad blocker running i'm pretty sure i'ts ad related any help would be appreciated

Any clues as to which page? That would help to diagnose the problem.

It does sound like something is redirecting. You don't say what AV and malware scans you have run, but I would say use MalwareBytes - download, install, update, then run a quick scan and fix what it finds - post the log here. Then reboot and run HijackThis, don't fix anything, just post the log.

Are you using a decent internet security package.
Some of the free stuff just isn't good enough any more unless you know what you are doing and have several checkers in place as above.

There are a couple of things in the Hijack log that look a bit odd, mainly this

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctl3datmtools] rundll32.exe "C:\Users\Shaun Ilsley\AppData\Local\ctl3datmtools\ctl3datmtools.d ll", DllInit

but it needs a bit more investigation before removing.

You are using an old version of MalwareBytes (1.41) - you need to download and install the latest 1.44, then update it and scan again.

yes installed and came up clean

I never directly bring up the google webpage. I enter a search in the google box top right and go from there, have you tried that.

You never UPDATED malwarebytes and you only ran a QUICK scan

UPDATE it (were on version 1.44 and database version 3546, yours is MONTHS behind) and run a FULL scan
