Upgrade Orange contract after 7 months?

I took out an Orange basic contract 7 months ago, its for three years, I'm looking to upgrade it as I regularly go over the allowed number of text messages so the bill each mnoth is not £5 but £10, appreciate its a really basic contract but am I allowed to upgrade it? I've tried their website but am confused

You can go to higher plan with more minutes and texts etc, but they won't give you a new handset. You can only upgrade that a max of 3 months before the end of your contract term.
Just call CS and see what the next plan up is (ie if your on Dolphin 25, see what Dolphin 30 gives you and if thats enough).0
