Today these idiots sent me an e-mail demanding money for a debt but the debt is not mine and refers to another name I have never heard of!!
They must be getting desperate to drum up cash?

How do we find out more information & is it for real?? Its very disturbing to think that these people can gain entry to your home or take your car and you have no idea what for!!

I received a letter the same the other day for £ 312 from north west London , haven't had any court summons so don't no what it can be for also it's supposedly back from 2004 , I have phoned them and they won't give me any information about the fine , I have been told to get in touch with citizen advice and book an interview0 -
Hi everyone,
I thought I'd add my experience to this list as it could be helpful to others.
Today, 5th March - I've just had two letters from Philips demanding £300 and £317 - for supposed debts to North West London ? ( as the others above have )
Absolutely no idea what it refers to and had no previous communication about these alleged debts from anyone
Please keep posting your further experiences regarding this as I will too.
Very intimidating indeed!
If you've received a letter like this DONT PAY IT until we know what is going on.0 -

Hi,
it says North West London on it.
I've started a new thread over there as well.
We'll see what happens and I'll post back on Monday.0 -
A few letters were sent to my address from Phillips chasing someone that used to live here for non-payment of Magistrates Fines - at first I returned them to sender but in the end got sick of it and opened one, I emailed Phillips to remove my address from their records - I got the 7 days automated response and have received nothing further from them since - two months maybe.0

I have had the same letter last week and this week , they refer to South East London.
I also waited for ages on the 0844 number but stupidly texted my mobile
number to be called back.0 -
will try sending a letter0

As we see there's loads of stuff about Philips on the Martin Lewis money site.
They seem terribly dodgy. A good bit of advice it seems is to send
them a letter telling them to prove there's a debt and that if they
can't prove it, then you'll report them to the office of fair trading.
, call the office of fair trading anyway0
