I'm going to do a gammon joint - not sure what to put with it though; thought maybe cook it in apple juice and put in a tin of pineapples? What do you think? Do you know how long it needs to cook for?

i hate waste too but i cant eat fatty greasy gravy so it is unusable to me

I don't know if this is the done thing but what i do is semi-cook (boil) any meat first then let it cool so as i can skim any fat off before it goes in the SC.
I've been preparing a sausage casserole this morning and dry fried the saus in the griddle to get rid of any fat.

Roasted butternut squash soup - I usually do this in the oven with garlic and thyme. Do you think it would work in the slow cooker? Maybe someone has tried it.

I have a 3litre Breville SC and all ok cooking wise but my problem is it spits everywhere. I have tried making sure the crockpot lip is dry when I put the lid on but after a while water builds up around the lid and then bubbles and spitting occur leaving puddles and spits everywhere.
Anyone else with this problem and what can I try to help stop it?

I had a small chicken in mine until an hour or so ago, stuffed with one orange, and sitting on three more with a drop of water. And then I made an orange sauce with some of the stock, a bit of flour, a bit of sugar and the juice of another orange. Yum!
Sorry Mint, can't help you with your problem, I've never come across that before.
