why would you think you were going wrong somewhere in an application?
if people arent awarded, it usually means that they dont qualify. ie, you arent severe enough. afterall, why do so many people get awarded first time?
Every step is not agony with Fibro so perhaps they know you are exagerating just to get the money. you might also have been observed.
i wouldnt worry too much about the blue badge as its not the end of the world without it. its not like a normal car parking place is miles away.

How dare you say that. You cannot possibly know how the condition affects someone, so stop making stupid comments.

    Do you even have Fibro?

No-one wants your kind of advice - it is not helpful at all so go and find another thread to annoy.

Hi Tenmah, the reason I sent the post below was to see if Aputsiaq had any idea of what he/she was talking about - which clearly he/she doesn't! If you take a look at Aputsiaq's posts it's perfectly clear that he/she doesn't have a clue.

Aputsiaq, can I first ask, are you a health professional? I ask as you seem to be quite an expert on a number of illnesses/conditions (and how these would affect you) looking through your post history.

Have you any illness or disability? You seem to know a great deal about disability also, and the blue badge rules!

Just wondering. With many illnesses (as you would know obviously) there are different degrees of the illness and patients are affected with varying levels of pain and difficulties.

Aputsiaq hasn't responded yet, but then he/she may be tired as it was 3.37am when he/she last posted.

I agree. And most people will know that conditions affect everyone differently. So, whilst fibro may not be that painful for one person; it'll leave another unable to walk.

Get banned from the daily wail / heil forums did you Aputsiaq? or you part of the civil service / govt? as your statements remind me very much of certain "public servants" I have had the misfortune to deal with...tinpot hitlers more like.

Actually a lot of the time normal spaces are miles away and half the time round here, the disabled spots are taken by lazy muppets with huge prams who think having kids is a disability (I realise there are disabled parents and disabled kids....none of these people are disabled in anyway, just idle and lazy and also think disabled bathroom = good place to do drugs / change nappy and leave laying on the floor where someone can step in it)....my answer to these lazy people, you chose to have kids, buy a pram smaller than noahs ark and you could use a normal space. My wife didnt choose to have MS did she? :-P

Also very few are awarded first time, most get approved on appeal, mainly due to half brained pen pushers in the civil service thinking they know more than doctors (even those who are world renowed as experts in their field) or their "contractors" at ATOS who think they are doctors when none of them would qualify as a medical secretary...again more of OUR money squandered on the private sector when the NHS could have done the job for less.

My wife is considering re-applying with the help of a welfare rights advisor from social work, just have to wait and see what happens

I thankfully got my blue badge before my dla award, i got help through my local disability action group, it was not Dial.
They told me that it did help that i had an OT assessment and also recommendation from the social worker at the Adult physical disabilities team and i included these in my application.
I def think an OT assessment adds some clout, i think that is what def helped me get my badge.
I hope your wife manages to re apply and get her badge.

We have a blue badge for my husband. He doesn't get DLA as he is over 65.

We don't even have a car but it is useful for when we go out with someone who drives.
